A Wiki:


Is a group of web pages that allows users to add information in a collaborative way to build information on a particular topic.
Permits others to freely make changes.

Is asynchronous - different people can work at different times or on different pages.
Is for people who want to find out more information on a subject or to communicate with people who are interested in the same subject.

Is NOT synchronous - Synchronous means people can work at the same time on the same document (Google Docs is... but that's another lesson!)
